Configuring the APN of your device using the mobile network of the operator RED by SFR can solve problems related to the internet connection or the sending of MMS occurring following the purchase of a new smartphone or a change of operator. We explain the procedure to you.
What is an APN?
APN stands for Access Point Name. This access point lists all the information necessary for the proper functioning of the device with regard to its mobile connectivity. Each operator has its own APN data, RED sharing its own with that of its parent company SFR (RED customers benefit from the same network as SFR customers). In principle, a smartphone manages to automatically and correctly configure its APN settings. However, there can sometimes be malfunctions, requiring the manual intervention of the user. This kind of problem is uncommon, but can occur with a new device or when you change mobile provider.Parameters of the APN RED (SFR)
We detail a little later how to enter the correct information for the two operating systems available in your mobile: Android and iOS. Find below the correct data for the operator SFR (and by extension RED). There are several possible configurations depending on whether you are on Android or iOS and whether your smartphone is 4G compatible or not. In particular on Android, the internet and MMS options are grouped together for 4G mobiles and separated otherwise. All settings marked "Not set" should remain at their default values, so there is no need to change them.
