How to enter a name on WhatsApp
You are interested in understanding how to enter a name on WhatsApp going to assign a nominated to a number you are chatting with but which is not yet among your contacts, or changing the one already in use for a given user? Then follow the instructions below, which can be implemented both from Android that iPhone, through the appropriate smartphone app, and from computer">computer, through the WhatsApp client for Windows and macOS or from WhatsApp Web.
Android
One smartphone is possiedi Android and you want to find out how to put names on whatsapp to your contacts, first of all take the mobile phone, unlock it, access the home screen or the drawer and select theWhatsApp app icon (Quella with the green speech bubble and the white handset).
Now that you see the main screen of the app, if you want to name a contact you are chatting with but have not saved in the Android address book, select the tab Chat located at the top, tap the conversazione of your interest from the list, tap the telephone number at the top of the display and press the button with i three dots vertically located at the top right, then select the item Add to contacts give the menu check if you press.
At this point, if you want to create a new contact in your mobile phone book, tap on the entry for add a new contact that you find on the next screen. If, on the other hand, you want assign the phone number to an existing contact, select the one you are interested in from the list and modify the relevant sheet by inserting the data in question.
You want to know how change the name already assigned to a particular contact? Then proceed like this: go to the tab Chat that you find at the top of the main WhatsApp screen and select the conversazione initiated with the user in relation to which you are interested in going to act.
If you have not yet started any conversation with the contact of your interest, first tap the button with the comic at the bottom right and select theuser from the list that is shown to you. After completing these steps, tap the name of the contact visible at the top of the display, press the button with i three dots vertically located at the top right and tap on the item Modification in the menu that opens. Then fill in the field relating to name in the Android address book screen that is shown to you and press on the entry for save the changes.
If it is more practical for you, you can save a specific WhatsApp contact or edit existing ones even directly from the app Contacts of your device, opening the latter (usually it has the icon of phonebook), touching the word for add a new contact or by selecting the one from publishing from the proposed list and tapping on the item to proceed with the modification.
Please note: the exact entries to select in the Contacts app may differ depending on the version of Android you are using.
iPhone
Stai using a iPhone and want to put names on WhatsApp to your contacts? I'll explain immediately how to do it. To begin with, take your "iPhone by", unlock it, access the home screen and select theWhatsApp app icon (Quella with the green speech bubble and the white handset).
In the app screen that you now see, if you want to assign a name to a contact you are chatting with but that you have not saved in the iOS address book, tap on the item Chat located at the bottom, select the conversazione of your interest from the list, click on telephone number user present at the top of the display and choose whether create a new contact or if add numbering to an existing contact.
In the first case, type the name and any last name that you want to assign to the contact in the appropriate fields of the card you see appear and tap on the item Save, to save the changes. In the second case, instead, select the contact already present in the address book of your iPhone to which you want to add the phone number and tap on the item Save, present in the next tab.
Do you want change the name already assigned to a specific contact? Then select the item Chat that you find at the bottom of the main WhatsApp screen and open the conversazione carried out with the user of your interest, by tapping on it. If you have not yet started any conversation with the contact of your interest, first tap the button with the paper and the pencil, at the top right, and select theuser from the list that appears.
In the chat screen you now see, tap on name contact current (top) and tap on the item Modification located at the top right. Then fill in the field Your name and possibly that too Last name and save the changes by tapping on the item Save located at the top right.
If it is more convenient for you, you can save a specific WhatsApp contact or edit existing ones even directly from the app Contacts of iOS. To do this, open the latter on your iPhone by touching theicon appropriate (the one depicting the phonebook) and the first button capacitor positive (+) lead located at the top right, if you want to add a new name, or select a contact to edit and tap on the item Modification (top right), to edit an existing contact.

As I had anticipated at the opening of the tutorial, putting names on WhatsApp is also feasible from computer">computer, but with limitations.
More specifically, being both the WhatsApp client for Windows/macOS and Web WhatsApp of the "repetitions" of the application installed on the smartphone, some operations, such as changing the name of the contacts, must be carried out on the mobile phone.
The only alternative system that can be adopted, considering that the WhatsApp names refer to those saved in the phone book, is to synchronize the latter with services such as gmail o iCloud and edit the contacts in the related web panels (also accessible from a computer">computer). How to put your name on WhatsApp
Let's see now how to put your name on WhatsApp from smartphone and PC. The name must have a maximum length of 25 characters (you choose it when creating an account on WhatsApp) but it can be changed to any time and for one unlimited number of times. Here are all the details on how to proceed.
Android
One smartphone is possiedi Android, you can put your name on WhatsApp in the following way: start the famous messaging app on your device, tap the button with the three dots vertically located in the upper right part of the displayed screen and select the item Settings give the menu check if you press.
On the next screen, tap on yours name, up; then touch the icon of pencil that you find in correspondence of the field Your name and, in the box that appears on the screen, delete the name currently set. Finally, type what you want to use and tap on the item Save, in order to save the changes.
iPhone
To put the name on WhatsApp from iPhone, you have to start the app of the famous messaging service on your device, tap on the voice Settings that you find at the bottom and press on yours name current, top.
At this point, tap on the field immediately below the profile photo in which the current name, delete the name in use and type in what you want to use, then confirm the changes by tapping on the item Done, top right.

To change the name to WhatsApp for PC o Web WhatsApp, click here tua photo that you find at the top left, click on the icon with the pen located in correspondence of the field Your name and clears the name currently used.
Then type in the new name you want to use and click on the symbol of check appeared on the right, to confirm and save the changes.
How to restore names on WhatsApp
