To do this, you must first activate the function that allows you to install apps from unknown sources on your device, i.e. from sources other than the Play Store, in the Android settings. So, visit the section of the latter dedicated to WhatsApp and locate the most recent version of the app (I do not recommend the versions marked with the wording beta, as they are often subject to bugs, crashes and various problems, being still in the test phase), presses the icon with the down arrow that you find next to us, select the exact variant you want to download from the section Download and tap the button Download aPK. Then wait for the download to start and complete.
Subsequently, regardless of whether you have downloaded the APK of the app from the WhatsApp site or from other portals, open the file in question using the app archive (it is the one for file management that is pre-installed on Samsung devices) or any other file manager (I recommend you Files Google), tap on the name of the downloaded file and press the buttons Install e end to proceed with the installation.

Install WhatsApp on tablet
And on Samsung tablet (as well as those of other brands)? Is it possible to install WhatsApp? The answer is yes! Provided, however, to come to some compromise. I'll explain. WhatsApp is an app designed to work on mobile phones and, in "satellite" mode, on computers (in Web variant or using the client available for Windows and macOS), as I explained in detail in my tutorial focused on WhatsApp for PC .
Taking this into account, if your device supports the cellular network and if you have inserted a SIM card inside it, you can install WhatsApp by following the procedures indicated in this guide but, in this case, by creating an account with the number associated with the present card. in the tablet.
As for tablets without cellular network support, you can always install WhatsApp as I explained in the previous steps, but you can activate the account using the number of a SIM inserted in a mobile phone on which the application is not installed, as it is possible to use only one mobile device for each numbering. If this doesn't appeal to you, you could possibly consider using some alternative messaging app that allows you to do this, such as Telegram.
There are also applications created by third-party developers, whose user experience leaves enough to be desired, at least in most cases, which replicate the functioning of WhatsApp Web and which allow you to use the same WhatsApp account on both mobile and tablet. .
