Forced, like all its competitors, to be content with virtual events since the spring of 2020, and in difficulty in the international smartphone market due to the restrictions imposed on it by the American government, Huawei has no longer organized a major conference. European dedicated to its mobiles since the presentation of the Mate 30 series in the fall of 2019, in Munich. Change of course starting next month, since the Chinese brand will hold a conference in Vienna on October 21.

For the time being, there is no element to confirm the model of the smartphone which will be announced, the visual of the invitation already received by certain media merely showing the profile of the device in question. Judging by the shape of the back and the screen, curved on the sides, it could just as well be one of the P50s, made official in July in China, as the Nova 9. The latter, whose the visual was unveiled via Huawei's social media accounts, will be made official in China on September 23, and the Viennese event could perfectly be dedicated to its European launch.

The Huawei P50 and P50 Pro will welcome HarmonyOS, Qualcomm chips and imposing photo blocks

5 months agoNova 9 or P50, the smartphone(s) that Huawei will unveil next month will share some commonalities. They will be equipped with the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, which we have already been able to discover on the brand's latest MatePad tablets and which, according to Huawei, is currently used by 100 million people worldwide. The devices could be equipped with Qualcomm chipsets, but without 5G modems, at least according to leaker Digital Chat Station, which claims that Huawei is seeking to obtain chips from the American firm. Which also resonates with the presentation of the P50s, equipped with Snapdragon 888s flanked by 4G modems or, for the P50 Pro, a Kirin 9000 4G too. Such a concession, regardless of the models presented in a month, should result in lower prices than those of competing 5G terminals. They will at least allow Huawei to resurface on the European mobile market, the firm with the red petals having concentrated since last year on wearables, audio devices and other computers.
