Microsoft Word (Windows / macOS)
If you have a recent version of Microsoft Office (2007 and up), you can transform DOCX to DOC simply by opening the documents of your interest and saving them in the desired format, that is the DOC format of the old versions of Word.
Going into more detail, if you use a PC Windows, you need to open the DOCX file to convert to Word, then you have to click on the button Fillet which is at the top left and you have to select the item Save with name give the menu check if you press.

If you use a Mac, you can convert your DOCX files to DOC just as easily. All you have to do is start Word, import the document to be converted into it (via the File> Open located at the top left) and save it in DOC format by calling the function Save with name from the menu Fillet (always top left).
In the window that opens, set the option Word 97-2004 document (doc) in the drop-down menu File format, choose the folder in which to save the output document via the drop-down menu located in and proceed with saving the file by pressing the button Save (bottom right). Easier than that ?!
LibreOffice (Windows / macOS / Linux)
If there is no Word installed on your computer and you are not willing to install it, as it is paid for, you can safely rely on LibreOffice. In case you've never heard of it, LibreOffice is a free and open source productivity suite that stands as a free alternative to Microsoft Office. It is compatible with all major PC operating systems (Windows, macOS and Linux) and perfectly supports DOC and DOCX format files, as well as all other documents created with Microsoft Office. Using it, you can open any file in DOCX format and save it as a DOC file without losing details of its original formatting.
To download LibreOffice on your computer, connected to the official website of the program and click on the button Download version xx. If you are using a Mac, after clicking on the "Download version xx" button, click on the button Translated user interface to download the LibreOffice cittàn translation package (which is already included "as standard" in the Windows version of the suite).
To download completed, a PC Windows, start the LibreOffice installation package (LibreOffice_xx_Win_x64.msi) and, in the window that opens, first click on NEXT twice in a row and then on Install, Yes e end to conclude the setup.
If you use a Macinstead, to install LibreOffice you have to open the package LibreOffice_xx_MacOS_x86-64.dmg you downloaded previously from the program website and drag the icon LibreOffice in the folder Applications of macOS. When done, right click on the icon LibreOffice, select the voice apri from the context menu and open the program by responding affirmatively to the warning that appears on the screen: this operation, which must be performed only at the first start, allows you to bypass the automatic macOS block for applications that come from non-certified developers.
Once LibreOffice has started, close it and open the dmg package that contains the language pack (LibreOffice_xx_MacOS_x86-64_langpack_it.dmg). At this point, right click on the executable LibreOffice Language Pack inside it, select the item apri from the context menu and click the button first apri e poi quello Install. Then select the item /Applications/LibreOffice.app from the window that appears on the screen and complete the installation of the LibreOffice translation package by clicking on the button Install.
If you get a warning that "your account most likely does not have the necessary privileges", click the button Yes, identify me, type the Password of your user account on macOS (the one you use to access the system) and presses the button OK two consecutive times to complete the installation of the language pack.
Now you can finally take action! Regardless of the operating system installed on your computer, boot LibreOfficeclick on your button Open file located in the left sidebar and select the DOCX file you want to convert to DOC.
At this point, go to the menu Fillet located at the top left, select the item Save with name from the latter and, in the window that opens, select the option Microsoft Word 97-2003 (* .doc) give menu to tendin Save eat (o File type, if you are using a Mac).
Then type the name you want to assign to the output document in the appropriate text field, choose the folder in which to export it and click on the button Save (bottom right) to complete the operation.
Pages (macOS)
Pages is Apple's word processing software. It is included "standard" on most Macs or, alternatively, can be downloaded for free from the Mac App Store. If you don't have Office installed on your Mac and / or you don't want to download LibreOffice, you can use it to convert DOCX files to DOC (knowing, however, that in some cases the original formatting of documents is not 100% respected).
To turn a DOCX file to DOC with Pages, locate the document to convert, right click on it and select the items Open with> Pages from the menu that appears. With Pages started, go to the menu File> Export As> Word which is located at the top left and, in the window that opens, presses on the voice Advanced options.
Then set the option .doc (compatibile with Word 1997-2004) in the drop-down menu Sizeclick on your button NEXT, tax name e destination folder of the output file and click on the button Export to save your documents in DOC format.
CloudConvert (Online)
If you need to convert multiple documents in batches, you can rely on online solutions such as CloudConvert.
