You changed your cell phone and you don't know how to activate WhatsApp on the new terminal without losing the license data? Has your WhatsApp account been blocked and you don't know how to access the service again? Are you a beginner with WhatsApp and do not know if you have to pay a subscription to use the application? Whatever your problem, know that you've come to the right place at the right time.
Below you will find all the information you need to carry out the first renewal of WhatsApp, transfer license data from one device to another (or from one number to another) and unlock your account in the unfortunate event that it is blocked from the system. These are extremely simple procedures to complete, so I would say to ban the chatter and get straight to the point. Identify the problem related to your WhatsApp account, among those listed below, and put into practice the instructions I am about to give you.
UPDATE: since the end of January 2016 WhatsApp is a free application. The payment of any subscription is no longer required, therefore the indications regarding the renewal of the license that you find below are to be considered obsolete.
How to activate WhatsApp for the first time
If your WhatsApp subscription is about to expire and you don't know how to renew it, go to the menu with the settings of the app (on Android you can access it by pressing the icon with i three dots you see at the top right), select the items Account> Payment Info from the screen that opens and choose one of the available plans: 1 year (€ 0,89), 3 years (€ 2,40) o 5 years (€ 3,34).
At this point, press the payment button at the bottom (eg. Google Wallet on Android) and confirm your willingness to renew your WhatsApp subscription by pressing Buy Now. If you do not want to use the default payment method (the credit card associated with your smartphone), press on price of the subscription you see at the top right (eg. 0,89€), select the voice payment methods from the menu that opens and select one of the available options: PayPal, telephone credit (only with SIM Wind) o discount code. Easier than that?
If you prefer, you can also send yourself a link for the WhatsApp payment via email and perform the transaction via computer (using PayPal). Find all the details on this procedure in my guide on how to pay for WhatsApp from your PC.
How to reactivate a WhatsApp account
You have bought a new smartphone and you want to know how to activate WhatsApp so that you do not miss your conversations and, above all, the payment of the subscription to the service? No problem.
WhatsApp identifies users by their phone number, so even if you change your smartphone, you don't have to worry: if you haven't changed your SIM too, by installing the application on your new smartphone, the system will automatically recognize you and restore all the data relating to your license. .
To restore the conversations, however, you need to copy the backup files from the old phone to your smartphone and confirm the restoration of the chats as illustrated in my tutorial on how to reinstall WhatsApp.
Do you want to transfer the WhatsApp license from one number to another? This can also be done. Start the application on the mobile phone with the old number, go to the menu Settings> Accounts and select the item Change number from the screen that opens.
So press on the button NEXT located at the top right and enter the two numbers involved in the procedure. The passage of the subscription data will take place almost instantly.
Unblock locked WhatsApp account
Has your WhatsApp account been blocked and you no longer know how to access it? Don't worry, the last word has not yet been said.
If when you open the app you see a countdown of 24, 48 or 72 hours, your account has probably been blocked temporarily as a result of using unofficial clients or other applications that violate the terms of use of WhatsApp (for example WhatsApp Plus). In this case, all you have to do is uninstall these apps from your phone and wait patiently for access to the service to be restored.
If, on the other hand, you find the message on the WhatsApp home screen Your number is not authorized to use our service the situation is more serious: your account has been "banned" indefinitely following the violation of the rules of the service and there is no way to solve the problem.
Your only hope is to contact the WhatsApp staff at the email address [email protected] and hope your reasons are heard. For more information about it, read my guide on how to reactivate WhatsApp.
