Let's start this guide dedicated to how to convert WMA to MP3 by talking about Fre: ac, a free software, of an open source nature and able to convert not only the types of files in question but also MP4 / M4A, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, AAC, WAV, Bonk and audio CDs. By default, the converted songs are saved in the folder Music Of computer.
If you want, you can also change the quality of the output files. To do this, click on thegear located at the top left of the main program window and choose the item Custom settings give menu to tendin Uses attached to the window that opens.
MediaHuman Audio Converter (Windows / Mac)
As an alternative to the resource that I indicated in the previous lines you can contact the free application MediaHuman Audio Converter which is able to "chew" all major audio file formats: WMA, MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AIFF and Apple Loseless. To download it to your computer, connect to its official website and click on the button Download that you find at the bottom left.
Once the download is complete, if you are using a Windows PC, open the program file you just obtained (eg. MHAudioConverter.exe), presses the button Yes and check the item I accept the terms of the license agreement. Then click on NEXT four times in a row and complete the setup procedure by clicking on Install and end.
If you are using a Mac instead, open the package in .dmg which contains MediaHuman Audio Converter and drag the program icon to the folder Applications macOS / OS X. Then right-click the software icon in the folder Applications and select the item apri from the menu that appears. In this way, as I have also explained to you in the previous lines, you will go around the restrictions imposed by Apple on non-certified developers.
At this point, drag the WMA files to convert into the software window or select them "manually" by clicking the button + (plus symbol) top left. Then expand the drop-down menu Size collocato in alto a destra and seleziona la voce MP3 from the first menu. Then set the quality you prefer for the output files in the other menu and press the button Close to save the changes made.
Finally, click on the button with the two arrows located at the top on the right and wait for the conversion procedure to be started and completed. By default, all converted songs are saved in the folder Music Of computer.
FormatFactory (Windows)
If you need to convert WMA to MP3 on a Windows computer, I also recommend that you rely on FormatFactory, one of the best free software of its kind, which allows you to transform all the main types of multimedia files (music, videos and images) from one format to another in a few clicks.
To download it to your PC, connect to its official website and click on the button View details which is located under the name of the software and then presses the blue button Download site 1 (if the download doesn't start try clicking on the other buttons). Once the download is complete, open the FormatFactory installation package (eg. FFSetupx.xxxexe) and click on the button first Yes, then on Install and finally presses on end.
At this point, to convert one or more WMA songs with FormatFactory, select the tab Audio from the left sidebar and click on the icon MP3. In the window that opens, click on Add files and select the songs to transform, then choose the folder in which to save the output files by clicking on the button Modification which is located at the bottom right and start the conversion by clicking on OK and then vai. By default the converted files will be saved in C: FFOutput.
If you want to change the settings related to the quality of the songs, after clicking on the button MP3, click here Destination settings and select Bitrate (KB / s) e Sampling (HZ) of the output tracks from the appropriate drop-down menus. Alternatively, you can use one of the predefined conversion profiles (High quality, Medium quality o Low quality) by choosing them from the menu located at the top left, under the heading Profile.
